Jungceylon: Phuket’s Best Shopping & Entertainment Escape

Jungceylon isn’t just a shopping mall, it’s a complete entertainment complex. Escape the heat for some afternoon shopping, bring the family for lunch and a matinee, gather a group of friends at the bowling alley, or hit the bars and clubs late at night. With four stories, 2 separate buildings, outdoor shops, indoor markets, a movie theater, bowling alley, arcade, night club, bars, and hundreds of shops, Jungceylon is a destination for almost any occasion.

The mall hosts department stores, boutique shops, as well as local markets. Robinson, the Thai deparment store chain, has a 3-story location within Jungceylon. Local markets fill the bottom floor of the mall, and provide some of the most interesting shopping choices in the complex. Many of the items available at the local markets can be found in Patong’s street markets, and many shoppers find better deals on Bangla Road and Patong Road.

There are plenty of opportunities to barter at the mall’s many jewelry and souvenir stalls, but be aware that shopping at Junceylon, or anywhere in Phuket, will cost you more than shopping in Bangkok. The beauty of shopping in Jungceylon is the sheer variety of stores in a rare, air-conditioned space.

With 10 fast food choices, 17 restaurants, a massive food court, Carrefour and Big C Extra supermarkets located at the shopping center, there are dining options for every occasion. Food Adventure, Joe Louis Thai Restaurant, Le Siam, and MK Gold serve a variety of regional Thai dishes, for very reasonable prices. There’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants, and Jungceylon also hosts some quality European fare in Deutsche Kneipe (German), Spoon Cafe (French), La Casa (Italian), Bit’In (Mediterranean) and The Irish Times.

A Family-Friendly Destination

The mall caters to families and children of all ages, with the Mario Land arcade, the “4D Motion Ride Experience,” and the illusionist Joe Conrad. The 4D Motion Ride Experience, located on the 3rd floor, is a 7-minute 3D movie experience, with rotating and vibrating seats that add the 4th “D”. Tickets for the ride cost 250 baht. A 700-seat theater hosts Joe Conrad’s magic show twice nightly.

If a night out is what you’re aiming for, skip the magic show and live the action at one of the many restaurants and bars at the mall.  Catch a movie at SF Cinema City, or bowl at the mall’s 10 lane bowling alley, SF Strike Bowl. SF Strike Bowl is open until 1:00 AM every night, and at 100 baht per game, and 20 baht shoe rental, it’s a great late-night bargain.

If you yearn for late-night fun, Jungceylon’s Famous Rooftop Beach Club, a night club with an expansive rooftop is open until 3:00 AM. Full Moon Brew Work, the only microbrewery in Phuket, hosts live music every night of the week.
