The Hong Kong hotel scene presents a difficult problem. The very best hotels come at very steep prices, and most of the budget hotels are hardly better options than many of the city’s hostels. Metropark Mongkok is probably best categorized as one of the latter hotels, but what it lacks in luxury and amenities it makes up for in value and convenience.

How Do The Rooms Stack Up?

The rooms are small and cozy. The only real differentiating amenity in the rooms is free wired internet. The hotel does not offer WiFi. Some guests complain of thin walls that allow in street noise and noise from neighboring rooms. Cigarette smoke residue, and hard beds are two of the other common complaints against Metropark Mongkok. Many of the rooms are dated, and many of the rooms are small.

The hotel offers standard dim sum fare at its Lychee Garden Chinese Restaurant. The staff at the front desk, and at the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Cheers, are quite friendly and willing to serve.
